Chibol is the name of the landfill in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, from which hundreds of men, women, and children obtain their livelihood. Most of them are of Haitian origin and live in bateyes, settlements originally built for sugar cane plantation workers, an industry now in decline.
