The film reproduces an interview given by the Brazilian anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro to director Zelito Viana in 1977, in which he discusses the history of colonialism in Brazil and its impact on indigenous communities. An interview with indigenous anthropologist Gersem Baniwa complements the discussion. The documentary includes photographs of Sebastião Salgado's latest work, “Amazônia”, and music by Egberto Gismonti.
